Knitting and crocheting is the perfect craft for a cozy Valentine's Day. This year, break out your yarn stash — hearts are perfect for using up scraps, after all — and knit or crochet hearts for all your valentines. If your valentine is always complaining about chilly temperatures, start with this Fingerless Gloves Hearted knitting pattern (pictured above) from Craftsy. Even though there's a heart sewn onto the gloves, the neutral-color base makes them wearable long after Valentine's Day is over.

This free Cupid's Heart Arrow Brooch from CraftFoxes member Maize Hutton can be gifted to any valentine — even kids. The size of the crocheted arrow it totally customizable. Just crochet a longer arrow to lengthen the brooch, or use a heavier yarn and bigger needles for an overall larger brooch. Maize even suggests using it as a wall hanging!

One Sheepish Girl
Last Valentine's Day, Meredith of One Sheepish Girl organized a heart yarn bombing. Crocheters and knitters united to leave hearts all over the world, some with messages attached. Get the free crochet heart pattern from One Sheepish Girl and give it to your valentine, along with a special message of love.

This Have a Heart knitting pattern from Craftsy has two of my favorite things: knitted hearts and nature as a craft supply. Designer Knit.Live.Love used 6-inch twigs to hang these knitted heart panels, but you could also use dowels.

Package your Valentine's Day gift — even if it's just a sweet note — in this free Crochet Envelope for Love Letter pattern from CraftFoxes member jennygurumi. We love the heart button as a little extra touch, but you could also use a crocheted heart as the closure. The recipient can use the crochet envelope even after the holiday to store small items like lip balm or business cards.
