This week we're feature Mika, who has an Etsy shop, Cuore. In her shop, Mika sells holiday cards, plush toys, notecards, pillows, and adorable homemade purses and handbags. She’s got some really great products and has brought her knowledge from working at Paul Frank to creating her own line of crafts. Mika’s super creative and we had a few questions for her. Here’s what she had to say!

Can you tell us a little bit about your blog and when you started it?
I started my shop about 7 years ago after leaving my job as the women's accessories designer at Paul Frank. I always wanted to start my own shop, so I decided to start from scratch and see what happened.

What is one of your favorite projects you've ever made?
The grandmother of a small toddler who lost their family dog once contacted me to customize a felt plushie of the dog's likeness to help the toddler deal with the loss. The therapist recommended it, and I was able to craft the plushie to look exactly like the dog and the grandmother contacted me with such a beautiful email. I love when my work can be rewarding — it means a lot!

Where do you find inspiration for your creative projects?
I love animals with a passion (especially dogs!), and am always trying to figure out my next character. I also find great inspiration in nature and fabrics.

Which of your craft projects took the longest to finish?
I take custom orders for customers who would like the likeness of their pets recreated in a felt plushie form or into a bag with their pet as an applique, so those take the longest to finish. I take the pet's photo, import it into Adobe Illustrator, then cut each felt piece out to recreate the pet. Once I had a client ask me to create a coin purse from a photo of her pet chameleon!

Describe your personal style in 3 words.
Simple but fun.

When I'm not crafting, I can be found...
Watching movies, listening to podcasts, drinking a hot beverage, singing or hanging with friends.

If you were to be cast on a reality TV show, which one would you choose and why?
Hmm, I honestly can't think of one reality show I'd like to be on. If there was a show that allowed people to compete as Harry Potter characters, I would love it!
