There's something about fall that makes me want to break out my crochet hook and craft with yarn! But I'm definitely not an expert, so I rely mostly on crochet patterns for beginners. Being an avid sewist, I've made my share of zipper pouches to hold makeup, craft supplies or odds and ends. I am thrilled to find this tutorial from Casey at Plus3Crochet, which teaches you how to make a crochet version of the handy zippered pouch. The technique of crocheting directly onto the zipper is brilliant, and prevents you from having to add any machine stitching. To make this project, just grab a 14-inch zipper, a size G crochet hook and a skein of worsted weight yarn. Casey's pouch features black and orange stripes, which makes it perfect for Halloween.
