This year, extend your Thanksgiving decor to the rest of the house and give your guests a special welcome for the holiday! Whether it’s a simple leaf garland or an intricate leaf wreath, these DIY ideas are perfect for decorating your entire home for Thanksgiving.
This project from Carina Gardner is a simple yet festive way of expressing gratitude without taking up much space. Let the kids trace and cut out different kinds of leaves on construction paper, and write their messages or thankful thoughts on the leaves. Afterwards, choose a space where you’d like to hang your banners, and have clothespins ready for hanging the leaves! If you’re having guests over for Thanksgiving dinner, have a few blank leaves available and have them write their messages to add to the banner. Place your Thanksgiving banner along your mantel or as a focal point in the family room.

You’ll need thick paper stock for this project to get the creases and folds to look more feather-like. And if you want to add more flair to your feathers, paint them in your desired colors. Afterwards, use hot glue to attach the feathers to an embroidery hoop. Make sure that you arrange it randomly and use various sizes and textures to give your wreath more visual interest.
