Spots and Dots Skinny Quilt

This modern quilt features simple circles tossed on a plain black background. For those new to sewing or quilting, this easy and quick quilt can serve as a unique wall hanging, table decor or even stylish bed runner.
 
MATERIALS:
 
1 1/4 yards total assorted brights for appliquéd circles
2 1/4 yards black for appliqué background
2 yards paper-backed fusible web
2 1/4 yards for backing and binding
25˝ × 79˝ batting
 
CUTTING:
 
Cut from black:
1 rectangle 22 1/2˝ × 76 1/2˝ for appliqué background

Step 1

Appliqué:
 
1. Cut (3) 3˝ circles. Cut (4) 4˝ circles. Cut (1) 5˝ circle. Cut (2) each of 6˝, 7˝, and 8˝ circles. Cut (4) 9˝ circles. Cut (2) 7˝ half-circles. Cut (1) 8˝ half-circle.
 
2. Referring to the diagram, appliqué the pieces to the background.

Step 2

Finishing:
 
1. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing. Baste or pin.
 
2. Quilt as desired and bind.
