Olivia the Pig Doll Quilt

Whenever you are going to machine quilt a project, first practice the type of stitching you want to use on a sample quilt sandwich, about 20 inches square, using some of the same fabric as your project.

I realized eventually that this is the perfect size for a mini-quilt that can be used for a doll or stuffed animal. My stepdaughter has a 3-year-old, Lucy, and I made her a fun quilt using Olivia the Pig novelty fabric. Later, I gave her this rag doll, and used my practice quilt square from Lucy's quilt to make the doll his own quilt. (Yep, the doll baby is wearing pink, but my grandbabe calls him "George.")
