Instructions for the Mom and Me Knits Contest
You can win a $50 gift card or copy of "Mom & Me Knits" by showing off your crafty talents.
Stefanie Japel's new book "Mom and Me Knits" (Chronicle) is filled with patterns for matching pieces mother and daughter can wear. However, we know moms and kids work on plenty of different types of crafts. To enter our "Mom and Me" contest, we'd like you to upload a picture of a craft your child has made for you, or you've made for your child, to the Projects section before June 8, 2012, at midnight EST.
The winner will get a $50 Michaels gift card plus a Chronicle Books gift pack that includes "Mom and Me Knits", "A Life in Stitches" and "The Sock Knitting Kit." Two second-prize winners will get a $10 gift card plus a copy of "Mom and Me Knits." Detailed directions are below.
1. Find (or Make) a Family-Inspired Craft Project
Have you baked cupcakes for your daughter? Has your son made you a pretty card? Track down a project you're particularly happy about. Or you can always work on a new craft together.
2. Upload a Picture of Your Work
We want everyone to see your work. Take a picture of your craft and upload it to the Projects section of CraftFoxes by June 6, 2012. Be sure to mention "Mom & Me Knits" in your title. If you're not sure how to upload a project you can click to read instructions here. (You need to sign up for an account to upload a project. Have no fear, becoming a CraftFox is free.) If you're under 13, you'll need to get a parent to enter the contest for you.
3. Get Folks to Comment on Your Work!
We're going to choose 3 finalists for the contest based on which projects get the most comments from different users. Be sure to ask friends to comment on your project. A comment can be as simple as "That's gorgeous!" Then we'll pick a winner randomly. You can read the full rules here.
