Step 1
With scissors or a paper cutter, trim a piece of cardstock to the dimensions of your embossing folder.
Step 2
Place the paper inside the embossing folder and close. Place the folder in between two "B" plates. Place the stack of "B" plates on top of surface "A". Gently turn the handle of the Cuttlebug to feed the stack of plates through the machine. Retrieve the plates on the other side.
Step 3
Remove the paper from the embossing folder. Notice that this is the back side of the paper, and the front side is "puffed out". Use either side of the paper that you wish to decorate your paper crafts!
Step 4
To emboss just one strip within a larger piece of cardstock, use the Anna Griffin embossing borders. One of these borders comes with each full-size embossing plate.
Step 5
To emboss only one side of a handmade card, fold one side of the card inside the embossing folder, and wrap the other side around the outside of the embossing folder. Place the stack between both glass plates when you run it through the Cuttlebug. It will be harder to turn the handle than when you are just running one sheet of cardstock through, but you can still manage it.
Step 6
Avoid embossing printed papers or too-thin papers, as they will not hold up well in the embossing folders. See the small tears in this print? Stick to cardstock for flawless paper embossing.
