This unique project from our friend Kate over at seekatesew turns a hardcover book into a zippered clutch, which is not only a great gift unto itself, but also the perfect container for a gift in a gift. We love crafting with old books and upcycling crafts and this is a great example of that. Requiring only some basic sewing skills, fabric, a zipper, glue and a hardcover book, this project seems perfect even for a beginner.

The tongue-in-cheek opportunities for this project are endless. Give your baker friend the "Joy of Cooking" filled with cookie cutters, spices and a potholder. "The Phantom of the Opera" could be stuffed with confetti and tickets to a show, or a DVD. Choose "Rebecca" for your friend Rebecca, or "The Hunger Games" as a hostess gift for a dinner party. It's a fun idea. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
