Valentine's crafts for kids combine a healthy serving of glue and tissue paper (glitter, anyone?) to make a bevy of adorable gifts to share at school and at home.

First up: Here's a Valentine's Day spin on the Thanksgiving hand-turkey. All the little ones will need is construction paper, scissors and markers.

potato stamps
Stamp with Love

These potato stamps can be used for a whole list of crafts. First cut potatoes so they are flat on the bottom and about 2 inches by 2 inches. Then have the kids use heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut out the shapes. Use regular washable paint and paper to make valentines to pass out at school or use fabric paint and T-shirts for festive garb to wear on the day of love.

valentine day onesie
I Heart Mommy Onesie

While the kids are making a mess you can make a cute Valentine's Day-themed gift for a new mommy. Take a plain white or pink newborn-size onesie and stamp the chest with the heart-shaped potato stamp. With a fabric pen write cute sayings under the heart.
be mine rings
Be My Valentine

This is a short attention-span craft. All you do is glue the candy to the ringback. BlueMossGirls suggests using a weak glue so you can reuse the ringback for another (non-edible) project.

Paint Me Smitten

Most little girls in your life will go gaga over this easy beauty craft. Just take a half full bottle of clear nail polish and add a heap of heart glitter. DelightedMomma used Martha Stewart glitter for her polish.

Butterfly Kisses

Here's another kid-friendly DIY Valentine card idea. Gather up the kids and arm them with pipe cleaners, construction paper, markers and toilet paper rolls.
heart mobile
Love Is in the Air

For these faux-stained glass hearts you'll need watercolors, wax paper, glue, paint brushes, scissors and string. This craft takes a little time but doesn't need to be taken down on February 15. Why not keep this mobile up all year long?
