Jacques Crusteau Amigurumi (Free Knitting Pattern)

Jacques was inspired by a trip to the grocery store, where she watched her daughter have an imaginary conversation with the lobsters in the tank by the seafood counter. For her, even something as odd and spiny as a lobster is cute and friendworthy. When Boyette finished the toy, Sophia was elated. In our house, Jacques lives the good life. He joins us for dinner, sleeps in a big comfy bed, and even goes on vacation.

Help! I'm a new knitter and am having a lot of fun with this, but I've come a bit unstuck with the claws. I've successfully knitted the large claw and put it onto a bit of scrap yarn, then knitted the small claw, but it's here that I'm lost. Once I turn the claws the right way out and stuff them, when I continue to knit all my stitches are inside out (should I be purling rather than knitting now?). Also, the wool was on the wrong side (left, not right), and there is a big hole between the claws. I'm obviously not doing something right...
If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it :) Thanks!
