Update: Congratulations to commenter #4, Calamity Jen!

Today we're excited to be giving away a copy of "Famous Frocks: Patterns and Instructions for Fabulous Iconic Dresses" by Sara Alm and Hannah McDevitt and illustrated by Kerrie Hess. "Famous Frocks" provides everything needed to recreate iconic looks by hand — including Audrey’s little black dress, Marilyn’s poster-classic white halter, Madonna’s sexy “Like a Virgin” number, and more. Vintage photos of the original look alongside beautiful color illustrations of the finished projects offer inspiration, while how-to illustrations break down each step so sewers of all skill levels can follow along. Packaged in an attractive lay-flat hardcover and featuring full-sized patterns for 10 classic dresses updated to be stylish for today (plus 10 variants for a full 20 new looks), this entirely original sewing book is a treat for lovers of vintage style.

Have you ever wished for the cool sophistication of Bette Davis? To wow a crowd like Diana Ross? Or maybe the old-school glamour of Rita Hayworth? This could be your chance to try on the style of your favorite fashion icon!

Comment to Win!

My favorite vintage style icons are Katherine Hepburn, Grace Kelly and the clothes from the late 1930's through the 1950's. I think it's from watching all those Sunday afternoon movies when I was a child, and I still fantasize about going to one of those beautiful dinner/dance clubs where everyone saw their friends, danced the waltz, etc, and had a romantic time. We take our kids out to Me-N-Ed's, Taco Bell, Red Robin..... Ohhh Wellll, count my blessingssssss! Calamity Jen

I love all things Vintage. The clothes, the hype about family dinners and being a "feminine" woman. I would love to make a classic style daytime vintage frock even though I don't have a fave "icon" I enjoy it all.

I think I was born in the wrong era because I've always loved the costuming for Doris Day in her movies with Rock Hudson, James Garner, etc. Fabulously tailored suits, great coats, gowns, etc. Thanks for the chance to win!
