Princess Letizia’s Veiled Circle Hat

Though hers was a lovely shade of blush, this vintage number picks up the circle shape and veil of the number worn by Princess Letizia of the Asturias. Or, to create a similar look, simply add a veil to a basic structured hat. We love it with a nice tailored dress.

Queen Margrethe II’s Cloche

A close-fitting cloche beautifully frames a face. Inspired by Queen Margrethe II‘s cap, this look transcends generations. It’s best when worn with your hair in a bun (a la the Queen) or with shorter 'dos.

Check out this similarly elegant vintage cloche-style hat.

Posh’s Pillbox Hat

Victoria Beckham wore a jaunty little pillbox, a hat that never fails to bring up comparisons of Jackie Kennedy. Added details (like what appeared to be a curly straw) made for a showy entrance, but you can accessorize yours with a tiny brooch. As for outfit choices, a shift dress would be expected, so try this look with a tank.

Or, purchase a
vintage pillbox that already has dimensional details.

Princess Victoria of Sweden’s Wide-Brimmed Hat

A dramatic wide-brimmed hat is guaranteed to turn heads (and nicely shades you from the sun). Princess Victoria wore a cheery peach design, but a straw version is a little more versatile. Wear it in the summer with a bathing suit to channel '30s glam.

We love this vintage '70s

Sally Bercow’s Feathery Fascinator

Even if you never would’ve thought to try a more formal hat, you’ve probably been acquainted with fascinators, like the one worn by Sally Bercow. The almost-not-hats are essentially elaborately decorated headbands and have been a big accessories trend over the past few years. You can fashion one easily by adding bits of netting and feathers to a slim headband, or find them pre-made everywhere from Forever21 to bridal boutiques. Even better, they pair just as nicely with jeans and a tee as with a formal dress.

Check out the wide variety of fascinators by
designer Sarah Gabriel.
