Here's some craft fairs we found mostly in the warm states — although ironically enough not in California. You get a taste of vintage markets in Indianapolis and Scottsdale, soap making in Massachusetts, fabric in the east and south and outdoor craft fairs in sunny Florida.

Cold Process Soap Making
Cold Process Soap Making Class
Jan 21, 9-noon

Remember Fight Club? Well, making soap in that movie will have little similarities to this class (except for the use of lye) and you will use the soap to clean yourself, not to, um, blow things up. At the Back Porch Soap Co. you will learn safety techniques, how to add exfoliants and color, and many other molding tips.

The South

15th Annual Punta Gorda Sullivan Street Craft Festival

Head down to Punta Gorda where the sun shines pretty much all the time.  You'll be able to browse a variety of crafts from handmade soaps to stained glass to metal work.

Snowbird Arts at the Springs

Each vendor is hand selected by a jury for this monthly craft fair. Each time, the resort chooses a different theme and this month they have snowbirds in mind. However, you don't have to be retired (although the Wednesday/ Thursday schedule does cater to that...) to enjoy this fair that sells unique woodwork, jewelry, glass, pottery and chocolate.
