The free pattern for this girls' A-line dress is available for download right here.

When looking at the pattern sheets, you'll want to focus on the "S" sections. (The pattern sheets have patterns for several different projects from the Girls Style Book.)

Step 1

Here is the basic layout.

Step 2

Sew center-back seam from end-of-placket notch to hem.

Double fold placket edge and topstitch as shown.

Step 3

Sew shoulder seams.

Step 4

Baste between notches on front and back neckline and gather. Sew neckline binding to neckline, making overhanging binding into ties.

Step 5

Sew side seams.

Step 6

Sew armhole binding to armholes, overlapping and folding in ends.

Step 7

Double fold hem, then topstitch.

Step 8

This pattern is excerpted with permission from "Girls Style Book" by Yoshiko Tsukiori (Tuttle Publishing).

This appears to be a lovely pattern, however the PDF pages for the pattern are quite oversized and thus don't appear to be readily printable. Has anyone found a solution to this to date?

How do I print this pattern? The PDF has 6 sheets of overlapping pattern pieces and I can't tell what sizes they are or how to print this. Thanks!
