*Chain a multiple of 4 + 3. *
 
*Foundation Row 1 (WS): Sc in the second ch from hook and in the next ch, *ch 2, skip the next 2 ch, sc in each of the next 2 ch; repeat from the * across, turn. *
 
*Foundation Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), skip the first sc, dc in the next sc, *ch 2, skip the next 2 ch, dc in each of the next 2 sc; repeat from the * across, turn. *

Step 1

Row 1 (WS): Ch 1, sc in each of the first 2 dc, *ch 2, sc in each of the next 2 dc; repeat from the * across, ending with ch 2, sc in the next dc, sc in the top of the turning­ch­3, turn.

Step 2

Row 2: Ch 3, skip the first sc, dc in the next sc, *ch 2, dc in each of the next 2 sc; repeat from the * across, turn.

Step 3

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for the pattern.
