Knit this lovely vest for the summer season. You can wear it with a dress, tees, shirts, etc. It's great for the nighttime when you want a little coverage.

This vest is knitted in 3 different pieces: the back side and two front sides. Once you are finished, you will join them. You will need to use a double thread to knit your Eva Vest. To do so, use two yard balls at the same time, but treat them as though they were just one.

Step 1

The stitch used to knit your Eva Vest are the Moss Stitch. It is important to knit a tension square before you start your project. Do so by knitting a 10 cm x 10 cm sample with the measurements below. Firstly to obtain the same dimensions indicated in this pattern and secondly to practice the stitch.

Step 2

Back Side:

1. Cast on 55 stitches in one of the knitting needles.

2. Knit 34 rows in Moss Stitch: knit a stitch and purl the next one. Repeat this until the end of the row*.

*When knitting and purling in the same row, you should place the thread in the correct side of your project: in the front when purling and in the back when knitting.

3. Knit 40 rows in Moss Stitch, taking into account the following instructions to create the armholes of your vest:

Rows #1 and #2: cast off the first 3 stitches of each row and knit in Moss Stitch the rest of the row.

Rows #3 and #4: cast off the first 2 stitches of each row and knit in Moss Stitch the rest of the row.

Rows #5 and #6: cast off the first stitch of each row and knit in Moss Stitch the rest of the row. Now you will have 43 stitches.

Rows #7 to #40: knit all these rows in Moss Stitch.

4. Row #41: cast off all the stitches.

Step 3

2. Now sew that side of the vest.

3. Do the same with the other side of your vest.

4. Tie a knot and hide the threads among the stitches. Help yourself again with the little sewing needle.
