Fads in fashion may come and go, but simple ponchos with clean lines never go out of style. Ponchos are excellent pieces to put in your outerwear collection, as they add a moderate amount of warmth, perfect for many seasons.

Tip: This piece is easily customizable. To make it longer or shorter in length, add or subtract stitches to the width of the panel between the cables; to change the circumference, add or subtract rows to the length of the panel by continuing to repeat the pattern as needed.

Step 1

SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate. Cabling makes this an intermediate-level pattern, but if you can handle back and front post stitching, you can definitely complete this project!

FINISHED SIZE
One size: 20 x 33 in. per panel

YARN
Lion Brand® Yarn Wool-Ease®; 5 skeins Seaspray,
#620-123 (3 oz/197 yds); 985 yds worsted weight yarn (CYCA 4, Medium)
Find Lion Brand's medium 4 yarns listed here.

NOTIONS
Hook size I/9 U.S. (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle

GAUGE
11 sts and 10 rows = 4 in. in hdc

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 inch [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles.

NOTES
Ch-2 counts as 1 hdc throughout.
Back post double crochet (bpdc) and front post double crochet (fpdc) stitches are abbreviated throughout.

Fold the right panel so that the top right edge meets the top left edge of the left panel. Stitch the pieces together where they meet.

I am very confused. Starting the ‘Plus-Size Intertwined Poncho’
Step 1: Repeat rows 3-6 until it measures 33”
(There is no Row 6) End Off

    Then, Step 2…

    Where are you starting from?

Row 4 and all remaining even rows:

hdc in next hdc, bpdc in each of next 6 fpdc, hdc in last hdc. Ch2, turn.

What about the second set of fpdc???

Thank you for clarification. I need to get this finished as soon as possible!
