A Wreath for Every Season

Would you like to have a variety of seasonal decorations, including Christmas, Thanksgiving, Spring, Summer, Easter, Halloween, Autumn, Valentine's Day, 4th of July... using only ONE wreath? Here's how: make a wreath that is beautiful, yet neutral so you can use it as the foundation for all your designs. Attach your favorite vintage or holiday items to the wreath using Velcro. Voila - you have a beautiful and unique creation with little effort or expense. You can transform your door in minutes and change the scenery as often as you'd like.

Materials:
18" grapevine wreath
Assortment of foliage - different types, sizes, colors
Velcro fasteners
Seasonal decorations of your choosing
Glue gun

Step 1

Attach leaves to an 18" grapevine wreath using a glue gun. Make the wreath full and lush. Combine the different shades of green first, then complete the wreath by adding a few autumn colors, like yellow or gold.

Step 2

Decide where you'd like to place your decorations and strategically attach Velcro strips to leaves on the wreath. Start with a few, you can always add more later.

Step 3

Select the decorations you'd like to use and attach the other piece of Velcro to these items. Secure the decorations by pressing the Velcro strips together. Decorating ideas: for autumn - use small faux pumpkins; Halloween - spooky witches or candy corn designs; Christmas - holiday ornaments or miniature Santas; Valentine's Day - hearts, or cupids; Easter - baskets, birds, or colorful eggs; spring - flowers or birdhouses; summer - bonnets or flowers. Possibilities are endless.

Step 4

If you decide you want to add more items, attach additional Velcro pieces. Try to add the extra attachments behind other leaves, so if you want less decorations on a future wreath, the Velcro won't show.

Step 5

Ideas for decorations:
Go to flea markets or rummage sales.
Try to find unusual holiday decorations.
Look for sales at the end of the season.
Dig out vintage treasures from the attic.

Step 6

This wreath shows possible decorating ideas. Use your imagination and impress your neighbors with your original creations. Attach baseball trinkets on game day, celebrate a birthday with old heirlooms, attach mini purses and bracelets for Girls' Nite Out. Do anything your little heart desires and no worries, if you change your mind - in seconds you can unfasten and replace the decorations. Have fun.
