Washi tape is a fun crafting material because it's easy to use and comes in a number of different styles. Duck Brand Craft Tapes has some great patterns and colors that make refashioning a breeze. Here's a plain white frame covered in two kinds of washi tape — a striped and a floral — to create a border that complements the picture inside. It's a simple and inexpensive way to liven up your home decor. (There's plenty more you can do with the material, including making gift boxes and even jewelry.)

INSTRUCTIONS

You'll need scissors, two (or more) different kinds of washi tape in whatever colors and patterns you prefer, and a picture frame.

Wrap and cut the tape to fit around the frame, alternating colors or patterns.

Be sure to cover any part of the frame that will be exposed, not just the front. And don't worry about making mistakes — one of the best things about washi tape is that it comes off without a fuss!

The corners can get a bit tricky, especially if you want all four of them to be the same color or pattern. You can cheat by trimming the tape lengthwise so you get the right fit.

Such is the power of washi tape that when you're finished with your project, your new picture frame looks like you bought it that way!
