Cuckoo Clock Dolly

My friend Katy loves cuckoo clocks, dolls, and mushrooms, so when I found this sweet fabric, the perfect project presented itself!

I used the Black Apple's pattern (available at the Martha Stewart site) as a guide; it's a great simple doll pattern and easy to modify. I hand-sewed the felt limbs, and added details like shoes with baker's twine shoelaces, used a little lipstick for her blush (just put a little on a Q-tip and swirl it on; works pretty well!), made an easy scarf from a red felt scrap, and topped it off with one of my beloved vintage deer buttons. In her hand is one of those German cotton mushrooms that make everything better!

And don't forget to check out my blog, Firefly Express, for more crafting adventures!
