A few years ago I wanted to make my little niece & nephew colorful, funky stocking caps like we had as kids. Couldn't find a pattern anywhere, so I bought some knitting graph paper, created some simple motifs and starting knitting. After the first two I started improvising the designs so I wouldn't grow tired of doing the same thing over and over.

Now people ask me to make the hats for them. This one is for me, and it's the longest yet, coming in at 73" long, including the tassel.

Patons' Classic Wool, one skein each: Lemongrass, Winter White, Royal Purple, and Peacock.

16" size 8 circular needles.

Started like a basic hat, but knitted lots of extra rows between decreases.

Materials: Patons' Classic Wool, one skein each: Lemongrass, Winter White, Royal Purple, and Peacock.
