This week we’re featuring Abby Might, who blogs at Drowsy Aurora. Abby’s blog is a chronicle of her life and her crafty pursuits. But she also has an Etsy shop, where she sells her hand sewn plush characters, including Lord of the Rings characters, Sherlock Holmes, Finn from Adventure Time and many more! We asked Abby some questions and here’s what she had to say!

Can you tell us a little bit about your blog and when you started it?
I started my blog in February of 2012 as a way to record some of the projects I made for my wedding. My husband's in the Air Force, so I expected to use it to update friends and family on happenings in life after the wedding. Since then, I decided to start my own business, so my blog has evolved to focus on my business — I make little plushies and sell them on Etsy currently. My original line of plushies was my "Officially Unofficial" line, where I created plushies inspired by various TV shows, books, movies and games. I've since branched out, but I still carry a lot of those characters.

Where do you find inspiration for your creative projects?
For my "Officially Unofficial" line I find inspiration in pop culture. I've been inspired by Doctor Who, The Hunger Games, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and The Lord of the Rings, just to name a few. I've also found some ideas on Pinterest and YouTube, though I only loosely base any designs on what I find online.

When I'm not crafting, I can be found...
Watching TV with my husband — we're currently working our way through Doctor Who — or playing a game like Minecraft or one of the Halo games. I'm kind of a geek.

If you were to be cast on a reality TV show, which one would you choose and why?
I absolutely love to watch "America's Next Top Model." If I had the chance, I would definitely like to be on that show. I've been told on multiple occasions that I should be a model; I haven't had too many chances to model, but I've very much enjoyed the few times that I have.
